Washington State Strategist
Jamielyn is a political campaign aficionado who is experienced in political advocacy, fundraising, messaging, and campaign management. She's passionate about building bigger and stronger progressive movements in Washington state, where she was born and raised. Jamielyn began her time with Common Purpose in February of 2018 as a Washington State Captain where she helped to mobilize hundreds of volunteers in voter registration and Get Out the Vote efforts for the midterm election. She graduated from the University of Washington Seattle earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Communication and has worked for a local political advocacy organization as a Campaign Director and lobbyist for 4 years. Out of college, Jamielyn worked at a Tacoma based law firm as a Government Affairs Consultant and subsequently as a Campaign Manager for a legislative campaign through the House Democratic Campaign Committee of Washington state. As of January of 2019, Jamielyn joins the Common Purpose team part-time as the Washington State Strategist where she'll lead an accountability initiative that aims to plug more people in with their elected officials at all levels of government and provide more capacity and support for local campaigns around the state.
